It helps us move forward when we have doubts, motivates us to reach for our goals when they seem out of sight, and encourages us to live for what we love when all seems lost. Thank-you to Sandra Jones,Linda Gorman, and Caroline Metcalfe who have donated musical instruments in memory of their beloved friend Karen Brown. It is only through lovely people and donations such as these that we are able to provide a safe, caring, protected environment for our children. We all appreciate your support and we thank you for allowing us to give the children the opportunity to become the best musicians they can be.
The "Heart of Music" is an exciting new music program for youth ages 7-16. It is free for those who have a desire to learn. We meet each Friday night and have many jam sessions. Snacks provided.
First they learn the basics of music theory and technique on a Rock Band instrument of their choice.
Students are placed in a group and learn about what it takes to be in a band and to perform.
These groups perform at our monthly Open Mic Nights. Open Mic Nights feature a coffee house, special guest speakers for youth, and The Heart of Music’s bands.
