The North Shore Salvation Army distributed fresh food box to individuals in our community and re-distributed surplus food to other like minded organizations.
The North Shore Salvation Army collected 150 metric tones of food from our sponsors. This inter-connected – inter-dependent system keeps this food resource in our community feeding those in need and greatly diminishing the quantity of landfill. Thanks to our Volunteers and Sponsors, we were able to keep over 150 metric tones of food out of our landfills and redistribute 75 metric tones of food to those in need.
Five days a week a fresh food box is available for individuals and families in need, at the North Shore Salvation Army. Food boxes are distributed Monday to Thursday from 9:00am-4:30pm at 105 West 12th (& Lonsdale). (Phone 604-988-7225)
The Salvation Army’s frozen meals are for sale to the public: Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm, at 105 West 12th (& Lonsdale). (Phone 604-988-7225). The cost for casseroles and full coarse meals is $4:00; soups $2.00. Over 25,000 frozen meals were sold to individuals in need of a affordable nutritious meal in 2017. Thanks to our volunteers and Sponsors we were able to help feed 25,000 seniors, adults and families in need of an affordable nutritious meal in our community. meals
The North Shore Salvation Army collected 150 metric tones of food from our sponsors. From this, 105 thousand tons of surplus food was recovered. 1/3rd was used in-house & 2/3rds were redistributed Monday – Friday 9-5 to like minded organizations. Thanks to our Volunteers and Sponsors, we were able to re-distribute over 75 metric tones of fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs, dairy, and sandwiches to adults and families in our community.
Annually, The North Shore Salvation Army provides community holiday banquet meals with all the trimmings for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Hampers with holiday food are given out to the community for Christmas and Easter. Thanks to our Volunteers and Sponsors, we were able to serve over 700 community meals at the North Shore Salvation Army and hundreds of affordable meals at the John Braithwaite Community Centre, Park Gate Community Centre, North Shore Neighborhood House and more….
The North Shore Salvation Army hosts cooking and skill building sessions that empower low income families and seniors to provide nutritious food for themselves and their families.

Annually, the North Shore Salvation Army holds a Christmas meal, complete with turkey, stuffing, gravy, potatoes, vegetables and dessert, for anyone who needs a Christmas meal.
The North Shore Salvation Army Community Church Women make Christmas Gifts for Women in Shelters; creating, preparing and filling beautiful bags with supplies such as shampoo, soap, slippers, and other necessities and gifts that bring dignity & a smile to the faces of women.
The North Shore Salvation Army are holding their Christmas eve service on December 24th.
Children in Kindergarten to Grade 7 are welcome to join us at our Kid’s Club Friday Nights from 6:00pm-7:30pm. We have a great time together playing games, learning lessons, making crafts and enjoying a snack. AND IT’S FREE!
Camp Sunrise is located on the Sunshine Coast and offers a variety of camping experiences for children including Junior and Teen music camps. Every year The North Shore Salvation Army help to sponsors several youth to have the opportunity to learn to play musical instruments, or just have fun doing camp activities such as swimming, canoeing, zip line hiking and more….
Backpacks for Kids
The Salvation Army joins forces with their community partners to fill backpacks with basic school supplies for kids who attend elementary school and secondary school. The purpose of this program is to help kids avoid the stigma of poverty and to give children from lower income families the same tools to learn as other children.
The Salvation Army hosts the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program with North Shore Community Resources
This is a FREE 6 week program for parents or caregivers and their children, newborn to 3yrs. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn new songs and rhymes with your child. This program promotes social/emotional connections and increases bonding time with your child.
